In 2013 the First Aid Squad accepted delivery of a 2014 Hackney Special Response Unit. This vehicle replaced an old, outdated and barely running 1986 rescue truck. Our new vehicle is mounted on a 2014 International TerraStar chassis and features all the equipment needed for a modern day First Aid Squad. The truck uses a multiplexed wiring system just like our ambulances to ensure reliability and ease of training. The onboard Vista display panels allow the drivers or passenger to turn on the emergency lights, activate scene lights, engage the PTO for the onboard generator and even see any errors or faults throughout the truck. The roll up doors allow for easy access to all equipment and several pull out shelves make it easy for anyone to get access to equipment. The 6 head light tower allows for easy scene lighting and the built in awning fully extends to keep our rehab area cool and dry.

The truck was a much needed replacement to our apparatus and we look forward to putting it to good use for many years to come.
